Seonna Hong’s world always seems lonely but at the same time a place you want to be. They are worlds that seem distant yet familiar, where cave-like entrances and forests repeat like expanses, and all characters tend to wander towards an unknown barrier. In her most recent solo shows, open late, Showing Hashimoto’s new space in Los Angeles, the artist looks inward at her Korean-American identity while looking outward toward a climate crisis and a world of constant turmoil.
As the exhibition indicates, Hongâ ´s characteristic expressive landscapes contain Multi-layered and complex landscapes. The artist’s characters explore surreal scenes, looking for something out of sight. “
The exhibition will run from January 15 to February 5 with a closing reception on February 5 from 10am to 6pm. For more information or to request an online collector preview, please contact Los Angeles Director Dasha Matsuura at [email protected]
