“Peacemaker… what a joke.”
Those were Rick Flagg’s dying words after the Peacemaker stabbed him in the heart. This is the moment that happens during the last chapter of James Gunn suicide squad It was a turning point for peacemaker John Cena. While his allies in Task Force X chose the championship, Christopher Smith stuck to blind loyalty. If you’ve seen the movie, you know what happened next. Bloodsports shot, a peacemaker, seriously injuring him. Of course, it takes more than a bullet in the neck to stop the great John Cena, and the post-credits scene is sure to reveal that the Peacemaker has survived and that Amanda Waller has plans of her own for him.
if suicide squad It was a cinematic feast, and then the post-credits scene left me hungry for another course. The good news is that James Gunn and John Cena are coming together to continue the Peacemaker’s story with the HBO Max TV series. how it’s going to be peace maker Complete the story and what can we expect? Gunn and Cena keep us in suspense, but if we’re interested in what we’ll see on HBO Max’s peace maker, some of them were placed in suicide squad.
When Amanda Waller Smith introduced blood sport, she said, “In his hands, anything is a lethal weapon. His father was a soldier who trained his son to kill from the moment he was born.”
This part of the dialogue raises many questions. What kind of men raise their son to be a weapon, and what kind of relationship does the peacemaker have with his father? We already know that Robert Patrick plays the peacemaker’s father, Which means there’s a very good chance we get to see this unique father-son dynamic. In the comics, the Peacemaker’s father was a disgraced Nazi, which makes me wonder what kind of man his father would be living in.
After my fourth screening of the movie (don’t judge, it was a good movie), it dawned on me that Peacemaker was the only surviving member of Task Force X who had never disobeyed Waller. Bloodsport and the others ignored Waller’s orders and attacked Starro because they knew that protecting innocent lives was more important than any mission. The peacemaker follows orders at all costs, even if it means crossing moral lines. If the Peacemaker had not been shot by Bloodsport, I don’t think he would have joined the group during their attack on Starro.
This tells us that Peacemaker and Amanda Waller have one thing in common. They both have no problem cracking some eggs to make an omelette, except in their case the egg is human life. The Peacemaker follows orders without question, making him the perfect proxy for someone like Waller. This puts him in contrast to Emilia Harcourt and John Economy, the agents who keep an eye on Smith under Waller’s orders (they’re the ones who check him in in the post-credits scene). Harcourt and Economos prove that they will disobey Waller if they feel she has crossed the moral line, which means that the Peacemaker’s therapists have more principles than he does. This would make this arrangement very interesting for all of them.
There is obviously plenty of room for a Peacemaker to learn and grow as a person, but what would it take to change his worldview? Remember, the guy was ready to shoot Ratcatcher 2 in cold blood because she was lying on the floor crying out for mercy. In his twisted mind, this was all in the name of peace, which was extremely frightening. Remember he said to the others, “I cherish peace with all my heart. I don’t care how many men, women, and children I need to kill to get it.” The Peacemaker series has the opportunity to explore Smith’s twisted ideology and show what it takes to challenge his view.
The only thing that seems clear is that whatever it is, it’s probably pretty brutal. think about it. If a giant telepathic alien creature, hundreds of mind-controlling slaves, a distorted experiment lab and the desperate begging of a cute member of the Suicide Squad aren’t enough, then what the hell?
You don’t need the mind of a thinker to conclude that peace is just a crutch that Smith uses to justify his dark path. If so, then Rick Flag understood this during his final moments, which is why he called the Peacemaker a joke. suicide squad Christopher Smith is presented as a misguided man operating with a hypocritical ideology, which perfectly sets the table for a compelling and thought-provoking HBO Max series.
With maybe more than a few warheads.
