Marvel continues to reveal more details about the X-Men lineup of comics with the follow-up to Excalibur, Knights of X, by Tini Howard and Bob Quinn.
Marvel continues to provide more details about what the X-Men line will look like this April with the new Destiny of X era. The company is now teasing the next step in the world of Captain Britain and Otherworld as Tini Howard continues the work begun in its pages. Excalibur Run with artist Marcus Tou in a new series, X . knightsNow with artist Bob Quinn.
The series follows Captain Britain (Betsy Braddock) as she battles against Merlin and his right-hand man, King Arthur, who has transformed the Underworld into a world that hunts and subjugates mutants. Captain Britain on her quest to make things right will be aided by Rictor, Shatterstar, Gambit, Rachel Summers, Bei the Blood Moon, Gloriana and two other surprise characters.
Marvel asked Howard to discuss the upcoming story, and explained, “At the end of Excalibur, we saw Merlyn taking control of all the Otherworld, the Starlight Citadel turning into the Lunatic Citadel and his war on mutants from the former Saturnyne throne. Captain Britain stayed inside when the gates fell, but even with the The whole legion is on her side—it would take more than one army to bring down King Arthur and Fore.”
She added, “You’ll know many knights from Excalibur’s past – both running and classic – in search of a precious treasure that shatters our high fairy tale in the most classic X-Men story – fighting for (nothers) a world that hates and fears them.”
Howard’s new creative partner on The Otherworld Journey is Bob Quinn, and he shared his thoughts on the new project as well, “Tini Howard and Marcus To’s run on EXCALIBUR was amazing, so the launch of the follow-up series is equal parts exciting and scary. But I’m giving this series my all. , and I’m proud to say these are the best pages I’ve ever drawn. The otherworld is a big draw to me. I’ve painted Midwest farms, New Jersey neighborhoods, and Central Park in my Marvel books, and I’m excited to unleash my imagination in drawing some of the most people and places I’ve ever drawn. Brutal weirdness in Otherworld!”
The new series, complete with a Rod Reese variable cover, will be released in April.
