Kirby is finally moving to 3D to celebrate 30 years of stellar platforming, but will Kirby and Forgotten Earth stand the test of time?

Four years later, Kirby is finally returning to the Nintendo Switch in an all-new open-world adventure with the upcoming release of Kirby and the Forgotten Land. Kirby enters a 3D platformer world where he will face new enemies, new puzzles, and new clone abilities. The game was originally announced during a Nintendo Direct three months ago. Since then, Nintendo has released a trailer showing off new abilities, new enemies, co-op gameplay, and new things for Kirby to do when he’s not busy saving the world.

2022 marks the 30th anniversary of Kirby Dreamland which was released in April 1992. Kirby has starred in several games, many spin-offs and a lot of appearances since then, most notably his inclusion in Super Smash Bros.. Kirby and the Forgotten Land Perhaps his biggest adventure yet, seeing Kirby leave his traditional 2D space and enter a 3D adventure.

The latest trailer for the game introduces new gameplay and capabilities. New abilities include digging and what appears to be a toy gun. There are also returning skills such as flame and sword abilities. Besides the new copy abilities, it looks like Kirby will make new friends and meet some old ones. In the trailer, there’s a blue flying creature named Elfilin, who’s new to the franchise and a fan favorite Bandana Dee. The game also features cooperative gameplay and will allow a second player to control Bandana Dee during Kirby’s journey.


It appears that a small town inhabited by Waddle Dees serves as a hub for Kirby and friends. Along with a food service mini-game, players will be able to catch fish, upgrade abilities, and use a capsule game machine to get collectibles like figurines. To get through it all, Meta Knight appears at the end of the trailer as he and Kirby prepare for a one-on-one duel.

What is Kirby and the Forgotten Land?


Not much is known about the story Kirby and the Forgotten World. Kirby wakes up in a world that looks like ours but has been destroyed by time. The previous civilization that inhabited this land was abandoned long ago, and nature tried to restore the land.


A new enemy called The Beast Pack has crossed the land to imprison Waddle Dees, but it’s not clear why. Kirby makes new friends throughout his adventure, including a blue-ish creature named Elfilin, and encounters new enemies like the monster Gorimondo as he travels this new world to free the captured Waddle Dees.

When will Kirby be released and the Forgotten Earth?

Kirby and the Forgotten Land Releases on March 25, 2022, so it won’t take much longer before players can experience the game for themselves. With new bosses, abilities and features, along with jumping from the 2D platform to 3D, Forgotten Earth Shaping up to be one of the biggest Kirby games to date.


The openness of the game contrasts with the traditional gameplay of 2018 Kirby Star Allies. Although the game was positively received by fans, there were some complaints that the game was too easy, which made the adventure seem shorter. or not, Forgotten Earth You will be able to take the best parts of Kirby to create an unforgettable game that will find itself compared to other great Nintendo Switch titles like Super Mario Odyssey And The Legend of Zelda: Breath of the Wild.
