Rapper formerly known as Kanye West named prime suspect in Los Angeles battery investigation

Los Angeles police confirmed to CBS News Thursday that rapper formerly known as Kanye West is the prime suspect in a battery investigation. Police told CBS Los Angeles that the investigation stems from an incident that occurred in downtown Los Angeles early Thursday morning.

In a statement to CBS News, police said no arrests were made. Officers responded at 3 a.m. to the scene, near Soho Warehouse, a members-only club.

Police said it was a misdemeanor battery and there were no serious injuries, according to CBS Los Angeles.
