An urgent recall has been issued to a popular Huggies product amid concerns that it could cause serious infections or health complications after the bacteria were discovered.
The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission added Huggies Thick Baby Wipes, Fragrance Free – Limited Edition Tropical – featuring designs from The Little Mermaid and Toy Story’s Rex to its recall list on Wednesday.
Burkholderia cepacia bacteria were found in baby wipes products, which were sold in Woolworths stores nationwide between October 1, 2021 to January 6, 2022.
“It may cause serious infections or health complications for people with compromised immune systems,” the product’s safety said.

Consumers will be asked to provide a photo showing that the product has been discarded or destroyed.
If a product has already been disposed of or destroyed, consumers are required to notify Kimberly-Clark Australia so that safe disposal of products can be monitored.
